Groves Forensic Team Commitments

Team Meetings – every Tuesday after-school in room B-10 – there is a team handout at each meeting.

There will be two types of meetings, ‘sit-down’ and ‘walk-by’

Sit-down meetings will run from 3:00-3:15 P.M. – students are expected to attend the entire time.
Walkby meetings will run *until* 3:15 P.M. – students are expected to check-in in B-10 with the attendance Team Captain and are responsible for obtaining the weekly team handout.

Team Practice Times – every Monday/Tuesday/Friday from 3:00-6:00 P.M.

1st semester – weekly requirements include attending all team meetings and 1 hour of team practice time (Tuesday/Friday) to meet with coaches/teammates and prepare for the upcoming season.

2nd semester –weekly requirements include attending all team meetings, 3 hours of team practice time (Monday/Tuesday/Friday), and a 1 hour working practice session with an assigned coach. *The 1 hour coaching session may be outside team practice times (x-block, lunch hour, etc. with in-school coaches).

Tournaments – Saturdays, 2nd semester, 7AM-6PM (times vary depending on location)

2) 1.28.05– Stevenson Invitational (Sterling Heights)
3) 2.11.05– Athens Invitational (Troy)
4) 3.3.05– Forensic Team Coaching Retreat (Ann Arbor)
5) 3.4.05– Dreadnaught Invitational (Dexter)
6) 3.11.05– Eisenhower Invitational (Shelby Twp.)
7) 3.18.05– Falcon Invitational (Birmingham Groves)
8) 3.25.05- Utica Invitational (Utica)
9) 4.1.05 - April Fool's Day Invitational (Walled Lake Western)

Team members are required to compete at a minimum of 5 Invitationals. Currently there are 8 Invitationals on our schedule.

All team members are expected to attend the 3.3.05 Coaching Retreat and the 3.18.05 Groves Invitational.
